Our history
Our history dates back to 1988, when Banco de Bilbao and Banco de Vizcaya merged. As regional banks proliferated across the country in the years that followed, other predecessors were born. After a series of mergers in the early 1990s, we officially adopted the name Orex Group and established our headquarters in Barcelona. Today, Orex Group is one of the country's leading banks, with more than 20,000 employees and €255 billion in assets as of 31 December 2019.
